What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabinol is an active ingredient in cannabis derived from the hemp plant. CBD does not cause the feeling of being “high” that is often associated with cannabis. Because CBD does not produce mind-altering effects, CBD oil can be used in everyday situations, including social, academic, and professional environments. This natural compound is one of over 85 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and much of the ongoing research has found it to be a promising potential therapy for many illnesses and ailments. Though more research is needed, scientific studies have shown CBD may have a number of therapeutic effects, including: reducing anxiety, relieving pain, reducing inflammation, protecting nerve cells and many more. Per the 2018 farm bill hemp is now legal in the United States.
